I think the article linked below reveals an interesting TRUTH about Afghanistan and perhaps more importantly, about America. I say it's the TRUTH because IMHO it reveals, in all it's glory, specifically the lack thereof, the truth about two things we're not allowed to think. The first is, America is NOT a SYSTEMICALLY RACIST country! The second is that it IS a SYSTEMICALLY DISHONEST country.
The systemic racism lie is the old bait and switch-a-roo-ski being pulled on us by our self-appointed betters in DC (Das Capital) so they can perpetuate their lies and looting of the nation's wealth to enrich themselves and their oligarch masters. The systemic dishonesty part of the equation is perpetuated by the lies we tell ourselves that allows them to do it.
You see, it's NOT just that the politicians all lie to us. That's bad enough! It's that we lie to ourselves and believe that if our guy/gal/whatever representing our favorite "Mafia Crime Family" (political Party) wins the biennial turf war we call elections, all will be made right with the world. No, the looting of America will continue and we will let it because we like lying to ourselves. We won't face the truth because we're a part of it and it's too ugly.
Comedian Jeff Foxworthy is often attributed with having once penned the statement: "America is a nation founded by geniuses and run by idiots!" While his authorship of that statement is up for dispute. The truth of that statement is not! If we are to survive as a nation, we need to stop lying to ourselves, put away our petty partisanship and drain the swamp. Sadly, I think we're too late. We've passed beyond the event-horizon and are on our descent into the abyss. The only thing that can save us now is Jesus.
